The Home Office, alongside independent advisor Martin Forde QC, is working to put in place a compensation scheme for the 'Windrush generation' and Commonweatlh citizens. This relates to those who have faced difficulties in establishing their rightful status under the immigration system.

A public consultation is now live and they want to hear your views on:

  1. Who should receive compensation
  2. What losses should be compensated for
  3. How the scheme should work

If you have a query or would like to request a paper copy call 0800 678 1925.  The consultation will close at midday on 11 October 2018.

This is an information event for Croydon aiming to create spaces where people feelsafe to connect, belong, and contribute.

It is a  growing network of hospitality run by local community groups & faith institutions who want to make sure that everyone in their area has a place to go for a friendly face, a cup of tea and a conversation. Near Neighbours and Together Southwark are supporting the
development of Places of Welcome and would like to invite all to hear about this exciting initiative for individual and community wellbeing.

The next meeting takes place on October, from 5.30 - 8.00pm at St Paul's Church, St Paul's Road, Thornton Heath CR7 8NB.
