This year Croydon SACRE (Croydon Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) is running a competition for school age pupils.
We would like pupils to write an essay on the subject of ‘Torn from Home’, which is the official Holocaust Theme for 2019. The essay should be minimum 2 and maximum 4 sides of typed A4 for Secondary pupils and minimum 1 maximum 2 sides of A4 for Primary pupils.
The essays will be judged by the SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) committee and credit will be given for quality of thought, perception, expression and inspiration and the winning pupils’ schools will receive some Jewish Artefacts as a prize. Certificates will be given to all entrants.
The two winning essays will be read out at the Holocaust Memorial Day Event at the Town Hall on 28th January 2019 and all entries will be on display at the event.
